Is “going green” just for tree huggers? Do you ever think about the relationship between humans and nature: or nature and economics? If not, you should. The Garbage Patch, a.k.a. the Pacific Trash Vortex, is a large sector of ocean filled with floating plastic and waste. Ocean currents caused by the North Pacific Gyre have induced trash to form miles and miles of marine litter in a fairly concentrated area of the northern part of the Pacific Ocean (just north of the Hawaiian Islands).
